But Igor, the driver, crashes the T-34 into the Tiger killing all involved.

The T-34 would have a chance just shooting at the side armor.  Especially the lower hull armor. 
 
That Tiger seems to have swung its turret about quickly.  Are turret rotation rates modeled?

yes, they are rated at fast, medium, and slow. I don't recall what the rates are but i've seem them listed somewhere.

I like it! Does it matter what size of vehicle it takes to destroy a Tiger? I'm thinking a whole bunch of light tanks could charge a Tiger. It would be like a zombie attack!

It seems to be. If you can find a Youtube of it rotating under full power it is from 9-10 seconds to do 90 degrees. The time is 10.72 seconds in the middle shot.

I'm curious though. If the Tiger had managed to rotate the hull around as well, and the impact was front to front, would the same result of the Tiger being destroyed occur?

Also, is this a guaranteed kill for the T-34 by ramming? I could see a gamey way for the Russian player to quickly trade a T-34 for a Tiger any day, as there will likely be many more T-34s than Tigers on the battlefield as the norm. There are relatively few incidents recorded where a T-34 used ramming to destroy a Tiger. I seem to recall one or two incidents during Kursk, but can't recall where I read about them.

I'm not sure what happens when it hits the front. It's the first time I ever rammed something. Usually I try and it gets killed first. But I started the tank 98m away so the Tiger only got 1 shot off.

I dunno.  Seems that the tank doing the ramming should have the other tank out-weighed.  From a technical standpoint, the T34 would make contact with its tracks and bow into the Tiger's interleaved wheels and tracks.  Would that make it explode?

Ramming is modelled and takes into account several factors such as kenetic energy, momentum and armour.

Damage to both vehicles can range from minor, to catastrophic.

The example above where the 34 and tiger caught fire is statistically unlikley, a more likely outcome would be mobility/gun/crew damage to one or both vehicles.

In the game ramming is best used as it was historically, when the rammer had no chance to damage the enemy with their main gun, and either couldn't or wouldn't evade.

There examples of T-34's ramming tanks at Prokhorovka. One of them tried to ram Wittmann. It was already on fire.

I think the simple manuver of reversing the Tiger might yield benefits.  the T34 is obviously trying to get maximum speed.  If the Tiger reverses, the T34 must turn and scrub speed.  Even 'lore' must respect physics....

You're self proclaimed expert you tell me. You have as much information about the incident as I do. You can tell amazing amounts of details from single films, vague reports, etc., so I'm sure the simple fact that all that was mentioned by the Tiger crew, that the T-34 was on fire, won't stop you from figuring all the details.

Wittmann's order was to reverse away from the T-34 which then detonated. Far enough away from them to do no harm to the Tiger.

Even the guys in the lore sometimes have some common sense. Amazing isn't it?
