DaBigBabes - AA companies question

Historically speaking, am I supposed to be striping the China and Manchu of AA companies to make up for the lack of AA at the air base level. Also, when these AA units are destroyed will they come back? It also seems that the only units with the 80mm AA are on the mainland, should they be moved to the islands as well? I don't want to deprive the home islands of AA late inteh game just because I was obsessed with getting these guns out to where they were used.

Historically speaking, no not really. They were removed from the mobile base forces and the airfield battalions, because they were not an organic part of either one. Many static BFs, especially in the HI and China, have a bunch of T88 8cm AAA, as do many “special” BF units. But the mobile, large caliber AA guns are intended to be deployable in AAA units.
Both Japan and the Allies operated on the principal of a “primary” base, that had all the goodies, and multiple “subsidiary” bases with a necessarily slimmer capability. There was no such thing as a full boogie, go anywhere, do everything, deployable BF or AirBF, with AvSup, and Troops, and AAA, and Bears, oh my!
Certain static BFs (HI, China, mainland US, etc.) have their OOB additions incorporated into their TO&Es. For the rest, one must build the ‘primary’ from available assets, recognizing that the ‘subsidiaries’ will have to feed off the hind teat. DaBabes just provides the tools and the means. Up to the player how to use them. And once an asset is gone, it’s gone.

Thanks for the reply. I realized it was kind of a dumb question not long after posting - the manchu area AA companies are army (20mm and 75mm caliber) so it didn't make a lot of since that they would be sitting on naval bases, lol.
