is there a chance in a future patch that polish units will be added an someone could create a 1939 Poland Campaign? Since the War in the East did include Poland in 1939?

Game doesn't support dates prior June 22 1941.

Pavel, would it be possible to use the current June 22nd start date, but "pretending" it to be September 1st 1939 by editing the units and such? If the sole problem is the start date, the workaround would seem to be editing the units.

Sure Pieter, use your imagination :)

Unless it is desired, I'd just choose some other date than 22-jun-1941 as it has hardcoded penalties for the Soviets.

Can penalties be added to a certain other turn too or does that require extensive changes to the code?

If the Polish campaign would be abstracted (by modifying movement and production values) to, say, a turn a day or a turn for every two days or so, the first turn penalties for the Soviets could theoretically be used for the Poles too, as their border defense doctrine was about as disastrous for them as the Soviet one was for the Soviets.

Only turn one. Yes it would require a lot of code work.

There is only one short turn in the game - June 22 1941 :)

Yes, you can apply Soviet 1st turn penalties to the player 2 and pretend it is Poland. Btw, there is a Polish flag in the game - so less time for modding :)

im still a little surprised that they didnt include a poland campaign in this game...the invasion of poland is considered an eastern front battle...

now i know this game is the war against russia...but a polish campaign would have been great as a tutorial or an appetizer to the main war in russia...

not to mention the Russo-Finnish Winter War as well...would love to see a scenario based on that...

Ski Troops!?!?!?.....preposterous!!!

There's talk of MAYBE doing this and a France '40 scenario for War in the West. No promises.

Yes, I would love to see both the invasion of Poland and the Winter War. A scenario focusing solely on the Continuation War would also be great, but admittedly perhaps a bit boring since it would last 4 years and include a relatively small amount of troops. [:D]

Not necessarily small amount of troops, Finland had over 450 000 involved in the armed forces. It would be deadly BORING since fighting took place Summer -41 in Karelia and Fall -41 to late Winter -42 in Poventsa (just north of the covered map area).

After that it was pretty much sitting in the trenches without hardly any fighting until 6/44-9/44Russian offensive and then, after armistice with Soviet, Lappland War against Germans. Not a huge war, mainly just following Germans who were pulling back.

So, no endorsement from me, except to get the map to cover Poventsa area also! [;)]
