I'm by know means an official source, but I can say that there are still some problems with PBM that are causing some problems.

thanks

Let me guess: it is an bug related to when you save the game, whether in the orders or reaction phases?

There is a similar bug in PC:Karkhov. If I save in a certain reaction turn, then reload the game, I get a free half turn against the AI, or something strange like that. I never PBEM, but I can only imagine the confusion.

No, it's not that one. We got inventive and invented new ones! [:D]

Argh sounds like propaganda for another year of waiting. Let's see this is 3 years in April waiting on a silly patch that's just ridiculous. We'll never see the Western front version of this so that will put Combat Mission2:Normandy back on top for most anticipated tactical wargame.

ouch! I sure hope thats not the case. Now that I have War in the East, PCO has become my next game on my list. CMNormandy doesnt even have its own forum yet, so let's hope PCO is around the corner!

Hi guys,

Pre-Christmas is not going to happen, unfortunately. We have two releases left to get out in the time we have before Christmas and PCO did not make it onto the list in time. We are exremely close though, I would guess by the end of January is realistic.

Regards,

- Erik

Thanks Erik for the heads-up.  You guys have been doing an outstanding job methodically putting this thing together.  I personally believe in taking ones' time and getting it right.  It looks like you guys are doing just that.  You know the old saying..."All good things come to those that wait."  [;)]

Three years is a bit long to wait.

Three years is a bit long to wait.

You're not kidding!! [X(] [X(] [X(]

So, to make it worth your wait we adjusted more than 70% of the code. That takes some time to iron out all the code interaction. We've got quite a few people working on that for you though.

Three years is a bit long to wait for an update but not so bad for a new game. PCO will replace two games it has so many changes to it. Not saying it shouldn't have been here before now. Just saying we are trying to make the results worth the wait for you guys. You've shown extreme patience and we're trying to reward that as best we can. [&o]

Good Hunting.

Ok you've got one more MONTH....after that you have to send me a German Lugar or Luger? That will keep me satisfied for awhile while I brag that I have one. [:)]

IMO, a German Luger isn't as nice as a Walther P-38.

I do expect to have an update before Christmas, but the next installment of the series is definitely well beyond that timeframe.

As the old saying goes: Making predictions is hard, especially when they are about the future.

Hopefully we won't have to wait two years again, but I appreciate that Matrix, unlike some game companies, tries to at least keep their customers informed. Even if some of that information provides an opportunity for smarta** customers like me to tease them [:D]

I'd say two years qualifies as "well beyond" [:D]

The 2008 post of Eric's was about an update to PC:K that never came and eventually morphed into PC:O.

Consider this single point alone; Matrix lost it's developer for PC. They ended up buying the code and then starting from scratch put a new development team together. When Koios left the PCK update was finished. There was going to be nothing for anyone at that point.

Matrix normally doesn't own the games they sell. So, for them to go out and buy this code and continue with it's development from that point until now says a lot for them. It's easy for us gamers to sit back and not see any news and translate that into meaning nothing is happening. It's what looks like is happening...NOTHING. When in actual fact Matrix has gone a lot of extra miles to get this update to you and the PC series back in development. They overcame a lot of issues they had not control over to get to a point where there is even an update. Let alone one of this magnitude.

Good Hunting.

I know everybody has worked hard on this title, and I appreciate all the effort. I was just giving Erik a little friendly ribbing.

In this case it went beyond working hard on it. Matrix actually had to buy the code to keep going.

Now, I'm all for ribbing Erik every chance any of you get...[:D]

Good Hunting.

It's all fun and games until you have to play the same battle over and over with different settings trying to break something and then repeating to see if the fix worked. That's what a beta tester does. But it is fun when it is working.

I've tested software before and know how tedious it can be. Which is one of the reasons I don't often volunteer to be a Beta Tester!
