Hi anybody help I'm getting odd flickering and ghost graphics all over the main display screen.

2.93Ghz CPU with 2Gig memory
Genforce 7300 GT 512MB card, I have downloaded the latest driver tonight and checked direct X 9.0c and tried different refresh rates.

Can you please post a DxDiag?

Also, can you please try the "low graphics" mode to see if that makes any difference?

Please set your graphics driver to its default settings too.

Cheers, same thing happens on low and high graphics, Dxdiag attached.

First issue I see is that your Audio drivers are from 2004. While not directly video related, please update them - I know there are much newer Realtek drivers available and I'm sure the 2004 ones are not doing you any favors in terms of compatibility. Did you also try resetting your video driver to entirely default settings? This really looks like a driver or driver settings issue to me.

Audio drivers done, opps always forget to do them, display drivers have been defaulted, problem is still same or a little worse. [:(]

If I open a scn without the blacked out area and turn unit icons off the base map is fine.

After many fruitless hours updating and defaulting every possible driver on my machine, problem is still occurring and making game unplayable for me.

From my own experience this looks like a graphic card that is about to give up. Check your card for dust, it could be overheating.

It does seem like either a driver or hardware issue. With that said, if you have no other options and we can't find a solution, e-mail me at erikr@matrixgames.com and we'll issue a refund.

Are you running any other DirectX games on this system and have you seen any graphical corruption in those?

You might try DriverCleaner to completely uninstall your current drivers, then something like CCleaner to make sure all other temp files and registry issues are resolved, then reinstall the latest video drivers and see if that makes any difference. Sometimes this can be a result of a corrupted driver installation, which can sometimes happen with many installations on top of each other over many years.

Other games using directx, yes most recent ones being decisive campaigns "Warsaw to Paris" and Distant worlds among others with no problems at all.

Thanks for the suggestions though, I will give them a try over the weekend and get back to you on Monday as I would really like to get this running if I can.

Hi again, sorry no go, re seated the card and cleaned any dust from it then used driversweeper and ccleaner on in and reinstalled the latest drivers.

Problem is still the same, I do fully realize this is a problem my end and not the game or coding one, I have a higher speck graphics card on order that should arrive in a day or so and will try that first but if it's not that and I need a new machine to play I will have to take you up on the refund offer.[:(]

Maybe you should try and connect to another person using TeamViewer. It's a free program and extremely easy to use. Team Viewer is a remote connection program where another person can connect to you and control your computer.

I'd be willing to do this. Maybe I can help (or someone else can). Who knows.

Does it happens with non-maximized window?

Did you try 1.01 Beta? I have reduce polling(rendering) frequency a little so it could ease a load on your graphic card.

Hi yes non-maximized as well as full screen I only increased it to full screen just to take the screen shots. I did try the 1.02 patch today and while it does render the errors I am getting slower, I am still getting them they are just redrawing less frequently.

Is your driver set to completely default settings - i.e. everything under application control, no options forced on?

Yes it's defiantly running on default out of the box settings, I reset them in the nvidia control panel.
My graphics card upgrade should be here sometime today so I hope that can sort my problem out, I will driversweeper and ccleaner again to remove all traces of the old card.
