Classic Terrain

Can anyone explain the trick to using classic terrain graphics? I've tried every thing but that voodoo that you do. The start menus churn, the install screens lead me through stuff, but it just won't change. Currently every exe file is set to XP SP3 compatibility mode, to no avail.
Oh yeah, I using 3.4 beta with Win7 Pro

Did you try - Start - Programs - OART III - Extras - Install Classic Graphics ??

Turn.png support off, then it should work. And do as sPzAbt told if you didn't already.

sPzAbt, I tried that with numerous compatibility modes with no joy.
Telumar, on the other hand, wins a kiss (you lucky dog, you).
Killing png support was the ticket.

At the risk of sounding thick, how do you turn off .png support?

It's on the second page of the Advanced Game Options (also called Player Options).
