I, like many other of your users, have weak eyes.
Is there any way to increase screen resolution so items and text become bigger.

Screen resolution and text size are not quite related. The size of text is fixed to fit the amount of space available. You can enable large fonts in Windows, but current code does automatic font size reduction so it could be fitted into the screen, so effectively you may have smaller fonts. In coming patch we won't do automatic font size reduction in "large font" mode and will reduce the reduction is -smallFonts option is used. So you could choose smaller font which would fit existing interface or large font, but with potential overlapping.
