I know it's probably hard to say but do we have an estimate for when increased modding support will be added to the Distant World expansion? Are we talking maybe weeks? Maybe months? Maybe half a year?

Would love to have some inclination of how long it might take? I'm mainly interested in modifying the tech-tree and ship components myself.

PS - thanks for the awesome game. I cannot wait until it's easier to customise the experience even further [:)].

They did say 'soon after release:

We will be revisiting modding as our first post-release feature priority for the racial bias stuff, I'll see what else we can do. I know you all want to mod the entire game, it is not a minor job to make that possible but we do aim to please.

 Unfortunately, what your asking for isnt going to happen for a long time. I wonder if there will ever even be tech-tree and component customisation... Yes there should be, but I dont think there will be.

 Best to be prepared for no modding support mate, then if the game has it you can jump for joy

As noted in the chat, we're hoping for tech tree customization in a post-release update.

Not at this point, no. Elliot did say he's planning on adding more modding stuff in the first update to the expansion, but of course it's difficult to predict exactly when that first update will be released (especially since the expansion itself doesn't yet have a firm release date).
