For the first Campaign(s) I want to set up the AI (Axis) to handle the most of the Air Combat, and all the Logistics, Attachments, Leaders etc. Are the default settings reasonable enough to just carry on, or are there a few "must change" ones before I carry on ? Thanks.

You'll have to manage leader changes and attachments directly to units yourself. I'd also suggest at least tweaking the support levels of HQ's a bit even when you don't want to manually move units around. Logistics aside from rail repair by FBD units and air supply are automatic (not sure if, and if so, how well the AI handles air supply when the AI runs your air force).

Normal settings (at 100) should be fine.
