Features of SP2WW2v3 I like

After playing both SPWAW and SP2WW2v3 TOO MUCH lately, there are some features in SP2WW2v3 I would really like to see in SPWAW.
1)The battle generator allows input of length of battle and input of exact visibility. In SPWAW, even set to NOON, I rarely get vis above 18 to 20. The 88AT has a range of 80, but you can't set the max vis above 50 in SPWAW editor. This makes it a bit difficult for me to set up overwatch postions of depth in open terrain.
2) In the purchase screen, it diplays the average country training level based on nation and year. Just like the appendix in the SP3 Manual.
3) In campaings, you repair and upgrade units before the next battle using the battles current date, not at the end of the previous battle where you could get stuck w/o the latest equipment going into the next engagement.
Now don't get me wrong, I love both games and to me its all good. This just my dream list of features I would like to see in SPWAW. Maybe the killer dream team would be if SP Camo Workshop and Matrix join forces.
I am also deeply impressed with the whole SP community... what a great bunch of folks. Other game corporate congloms should take notice on how a REAL game company works.

In the meantime you can use Fred's editor to set visabilities to what you want. I'm playing a long campaign battle with vis of 60. There is a link to Fred's editor on the Matrix links page.
I echo your comments. All of your suggestions would make the game better. I doubly echo your appreciation of Matrix.

OK, maybe just a bit faded.

Thanks Larry, Fred's editor kicks butt!!

Now to really see how my 88's can reach out and touch someone.

I'm agree with Skotty, the average visibility is too low, even at noon.
What I would like to see is bunkers with rotating turrets and impassable terrain for tanks.

C'mon fellas. If a hex equals fifty yards more or less, a visibility of 80? That's 4,000 yards or around three miles. Could you see enemy movement that far? That seems very unrealistic to me.
On the other hand, tank optics and binoculars could double that, but anything above 50 seems very unrealistic to me.

1 and 2 are in version 3, I don't think 3 is. Our quartermasters aren't as efficient procesing those requisitions I guess! LOL

Hi guys
You should find 1, 2, and 3 in v3.0 of SPWaW God willing.

Add to that one other thing - the expanded OOBs and scrolling through the purchase screen (although admittably the 800x640 helps here). Would love to be able to tinker with the OOBs to one's content without running into nasty little things like limits

The one thing about SPWW2v3 ireally like is the greater number of elevations and the introducion of impassable terrain.
I is a shame that the graphics are now so inferior to what SPWAW has to offer, as well as still more limited terrain options.

Well, if you're trying to look into woods, or if it's just infantry out there, then no, you probably couldn't see anything. But in the desert, or looking down from any sizeable hill on vehicular movement, hell yes. Look down out of an airplane sometime. I know it's not quite the same, but at cruising altitude (+/- 7miles) I can usually see things moving on the interstate. Even if you couldn't see the vehicle itself, you might see dust, and then you'd put up the binoculars.
