Hi,
we just started a new game ... called "Classic" which is hosted by Kevin (Yearworld).
This game is following the rules of the original EiA board game - that´s why the name.

here the result of the bids - lots of people knowing each other from older games. We are from France, Italy, England, USA, Australia and Germany.

we are now at march 1805. As no minor manipulation is allowed (some player forgot about that) most of the countries are still neutral.
The situation at the peninsular is obviuos. Spain is attacking Lisbon and try to get hold of Portugal as fast as possible.

the Tzar waited for the spring to come and set sail to conquer Sweden. Stockholm fall in March 1805 into Russian hands.

in central Europe Prussia is massing forces in Lausitz and the French are in the Low Countries.

Austria benifits from the lack of other (enemy) forces in Italy and is conquering a big share of the italian minors.

Turkey is enjoing the sun of Africa and has forces in Cairo.

last but not least the Royal Navy is blockading Brest and the French have a strong force in defence position.

The battle for control of Europe begins! France DOW Prussia and Prussia calls Austria and Russia to war. Meanwhile Spain, who I am playing, is still trying in vain to conquer little Portugal.

In the first month of the war, Napoleon moves first and catches Charles who has only a small force under his command. Napoleon destroys Charles' army and captures Charles.

Many great battles have happened since the last update.

First, France under Napoleon defeated a combined Prussian/Russian army at Berlin under Kutusov and took Berlin.

Then a Russian army under Bagration, which had sailed in British ships to France while Napoleon was away, attacked a French army at Paris under Davout. Both sides broke when Russia committed its guard two levels in the final round of combat and Paris was saved.

Things were looking good for France having saved his capital, taken Berlin, and captured Charles (earlier),
But then......
Kutusov and the Russian/Prussian army counter-attacked at Berlin and defeated the French and then reconquered Berlin.

Finally, the British sent a corps to Brest and conquered the city forcing the French fleets to be scuttled when they could not break the blockade.

Spain has DOW Austria and is now at war with Austria and Prussia. France is at war with GB, Russia, Prussia and Austria. Turkey remains neutral as he builds the Ottoman Empire.
