Playing the 41-45 Game as Axis. I have been able to beat the historical advance in the first 3 Turns but then I run into big trouble. My advance past Pskov came to a complete halt as there where no fuel to my Panzers?

Maybe I should have maximized the rebuild of the railway into just one railway and not spreading the few construction units out? What is the best strategy?

I also have another amateur problem (?) when trying to airdrop suplies I just get the message that there is no planes available but it should be plenty? To far away?

I´m playing on the latest patch and I´m amazed how good the AI has recovered the lines - in the south, in the middle and also in the North after my initial blows.

A really great game, best game for years and well worth every cent!

Only disapointement is that the printed manual is only an extract and reading on the screen is no fun (as you can see from my questions)

If there are no planes available, it is usually one of three things: 1) they have no mileage left to fly for the turn 2) the squadrons are too depleted/have too many damaged aircraft and/or won't be able to fly with current air doctrine settings 3) the transport squadrons are out of range of the spearhead you're trying to supply.

I'd personally focus FBD units on the rail line where you need to convert/repair the least amount of hexes to get to your spearhead.

Supply is supposed to be a nightmare for the Axis later on, but you can avoid supply problems crippling your advance through maintaining a not too optimistic pace of advance and good management of rail repair units.

What patch. The game just came out. i haven't heard anything about a patch. Please explain what you are referring to.

He probably means the latest 1.01 beta version.
