LF Server PBEM German opponent 41-45

Hi,

I have played 2 turns of GC as Sovs to get a feel for how it starts along w/ some smaller scenarios as Germans so I'm not experienced w/ the game yet.

I'm LF a German opponent to play the full GC, not play 2 years and stop - the Sovs deserve some fun after the Germans get their 2 years of fun. :)

I can probably average roughly 1 turn/day on most days.

I realize that right now there is some game balance problem w/ TAC air effectiveness. I think that might benefit the Germans early and will probably be patched by the time our game hits 43 and the Red Air Force is a big factor so overall that might be a small boost to Axis. Obviously we'll apply all patches that are released during our game including betas (would be my preference).

Settings:
FOW: On
Move FoW: On
GE/SU Morale: 100
Fort build: GE: 100, SU: 100
Logistics: GE: 105, SU: 100 **This setting affects replacements so should boost Axis
Transport: GE: 100, SU 100
Admin: GE: 100, SU 100

If you think these settings should be different let me know but the intent is to give Germany a bit of a bump to let them maybe do slightly better than historical and make the game more tense in 42/43 before (hopefully) the Reds start their fun time in 44/45.

I'd also be willing to do some sort of gradual increase of Logistics for Germany. For example leave it at 105 in 1941, change to 110 in 1942, 115 in 1943, 120 in 1944, 125 in 1945 if that's something the Axis player would prefer. (assuming this setting can be changed after the start of a PBEM game like it can when playing AI)

JJ, the Axis don't really need a boost, and a boost of 10% won't really be felt. If you do want to add a bonus, I'd suggest only giving them a bonus for replacements, they don't need rail transport, fort construction or AP bonuses.

I'd also suggest playing with movement FOW on, it's one of the most recently added, yet finest features of the game in my opinion.

Ok, I'll edit the original post. How do you give the Axis a replacement boost? I didn't see that on the options screen? Is it "logistics" that gives them more replacements?

Yes, it should be logistics.

A 10% boost in the logistics level is huge in a two player game. IIRC it means all admin rolls will be automatically passed. This is a huge handicap.

FYI, in 2 player games, you cannot change the play levels after the game has begun.

IIRC it means all admin rolls will be automatically passed.

That's not documented I believe. The only thing that's mentioned is that morale at 110% will make admin checks for movement allowances always successful. The only thing mentioned for logistics is
This level also affects the ability of leaders to conduct successful admin checks.

If it works like the morale multiplier and allows the player to pass admin checks automatically then that's a huge advantage indeed, so I'd in that case advise against the bonus.

Sorry, my error. It's morale that sets the admin check bonus, so logistics is not as important (but still a nice gift to the German player).

I'll throw my hat in the ring, too. I won't be too reliable until after Christmas weekend. PM me, if interested, or send me an email. You may still have my address from a couple of years ago, when we were PBEM'ing Advanced Tactics.
