This is a two part post. I wonder if hand held anti tank weapons like panzerfaust & hafthalladung will be in the game. Also, I am curious to know if Panzersfauts were ever used against hard targets like buildings, bunkers, ect. I wonder if they could even be used in that capacity. Today's RPG is a multi purpose weapon. Were panzerfausts or panzershrecks used in other roles besides anti-tank? This is something I often wondered about and can't find much information about the subject. Thanks!

Short answer, lots of weapons are listed in the units spec that are abstracted in the firepower.

We don't have a 3D animated model of a soldier firing a shreck.

Yes. There are hand held AT weapons in the game.

Are you talking in game terms or in actual combat usage?

There are no differences in today's hollow charge weapons and those used during WWII. They use the same principle and could be used in the same manner.

There is quite a bit of information about how the American forces used the bazooka as a general mobile assault weapon. Bunker buster, taking out strong points both fortified and simple, or MG positions. It's much harder to find information on how other nations used their shaped charge weapons.

There is at least one incident I know of where the Germans had so many Panzerfausts that they fired them as indirect artillery. That would tend to indicate that they too used their hollow charge weapons as needed.

The stats for hafthalladung are in the weapons folder, but for grog curiosity only. Their range is under the range that the abstract close assault takes place so are not used for anything. Weapon attacks that require them to be placed on a vehicle or are hand thrown are all amalgamated into the abstract close assault attack.

I'm talking about actual combat usage. Everyone knows how deadly the panzerfaust and panzerschrek were vs tanks, however, I don't think I ever read or heard anything about them being used in other roles. I wonder if they could blow down a wall or take out a small bunker.

Yes, they could. The Germans had their hollow charge weapons when they were mostly on the defensive. There wouldn't be as much of a need to use them, as you indicate, in defensive situations. That would be more of an Allied usage and there is evidence they used them for assault combat in situations other than vs armored targets.

Edit: Just an opinion but I have seen captured PF used against everything. I would suspect that shrecks were hoarded for use against armor. By anyone.

The faust has a big warhead because it probably needs it. I wonder if it really used copper or more likely a zinc or other metal for the cone. Considering its short range, I would say the PF30 is similar to a close assault weapon. The later (and they were late44+) 60m and rare 100m versions might justify 'teams' and targeting.
