German SEC Units

Since security divisions/regiments are used to garrison cities which may be more than 5 hexes away from each other not to mention their corps HQ how does one handle this?
Just let them be out of the command radius of their corps?
Remove the divisions from the corps and assign directly to O.K.H.? And if so, what do you do with the empty corps HQ which can only have security divisions assigned?
Something else?
Thanks

It's not a big deal for these units. They should always be in supply, once the rail lines are repaired, and keep them mobile, in order to react to partisan incursions. These units being out of Command Radius isn't catastrophic.

I find that you only need to keep the HQ mobile...
When partisans crop up, one normally dispatches the nearest regiment for the hunt. Move HQ close so that it can provide support. Incidentally the large Hungarian and later Romanian security divisions really relieve you from garrisoning the largest cities.
One other thing. Some posters in other threads seem to send the SS motorised and cavalry brigades to hunt partisans. I bet that if they do so, they'll attach them to one of the security commands for added support. I haven't played far enough into the game to check this out though.

I usually just assign them to OKH and disband the Corp HQ's. Partisans are rather weak in combat anyways so it doesn't matter.

Army group center and army group south are already stretched thin on command points (Seen in the commanders report). That is also a good reason to attach the security divisions to OKH. In addition, whenever it is possible I break the security divisions down to Brigades (B Key) and spread them out to more cities. You can add a defensive fort on top of a security brigade and that will provide enough manpower to keep the partisans down. (It takes a full turn for the city square to turn blue).
