Merry Xmas and Greetings to All,

How do you isolate Leningrad??? I have surrounded it and taken the two ports on Lake Lagoda. Yet, the turn after I took the ports it is still not isolated??? What am I missing? Thanks in advance.

regards,

Tony

There are 3 ports. 1 below the Svir river and 2 in the Y 15 row.

Ahhh, thank you. Never saw the one up Nth near the Svir River, first time I've ever seen that port in an East Front Game. Damm, Took up to the river Volkhov (Sp) and mud just hit
Took too long to get there, AI did a great job laying down a non-stop carpet of units that I had to plow through and when ever I tried to spearhead forward it cut me off. Good work by the AI!

Thanks,

Tony

I can't be 100% sure, but I am fairly sure I isolated Leningrad by just taking the furthest port, the one on the Svir river (allowing the Finns to cross over and garrison it). The other two ports were cut off, keeping anything from getting thru to them...you might try that tactic and see if it works. Next time I try the short scenario I will just go for that port to confirm.

You are right mephistofileez, if you get through to the Finns then it cuts off Leningrad and makes it fairly easy to take after a turn to the let the isolation set in. I have a feeling the AI will soon be programed to make that a bit more difficult than it is right now, so enjoy it while you can!
