Poland 39 turn-burn

Well I modified Ben Turners Poland 1939 scenario and set the MRPB to 4, despite that and careful planing I still have a turn burn that seem a bit too high.
So check out the scenario and the 4 different save files:
1. Normal plan
2. Artillery set to minimize losses
3. Artillery & air units set to minimize losses
4. All set to minimize losses

I ran each setup 10 times and the best I got for the first round that used 10% in the planing:
1. 7x 60%, 3x 50%
2. 2x 70%, 6x 60%, 2x 50%
3. 1x 70%, 9x 60%
4. 1x 80%, 6x 70%, 2x 60%, 1x 50%
As you see only the last setup had with the majority on 70% a burn that seems acceptable.

But still I wonder did I make a mistake anywhere?
Or is something wrong with the scenario?
Or is there just nothing more to get out?

I've found that when I attack at "ignore losses" settings on at least one combat I sometimes get combat results with verbage that says "XXX continues attack" a couple of times and it's always more than 10% per round.  I've had an early turn ending after the first round this way also.  So maybe you had at least one attack at "ignore losses" settings?

I played turn 1 leaving the MRPB at the stock 99 and got 5 rounds using limit losses on all attacks, air units, and artillery. I think you could get more than that but really can't expect to. My first round took 50% of the turn, the others only 10%. Don't know why the first round took 50%, but it is a large scenario with lots of units and attacks. Elmer got 4 rounds in his half of the turn. I'll try to play more turns later.

This all seems like normal engine "behaviour". The scenario has armour as pure armour units and Ben has checked the recon flag for all german panzers, so that these units also have a high recon value, often 99%. Plus a lot of battles - so there's always something not going to plan.. (unit xy continues attack)

I guess the question would be, what do you expect to see?

Happy new year!

@larryfulkerson
I checked all attacks and none is on "ignore losses" so that can't be the problem.

@sPzAbt653
Than you were lucky, I had to try several times to get a the first punch thru and still have more than 50% with the stock scenario, a few times the turn was immediately over.

@Telumar
Are tank only units or the use of recon flag "bad"?

@Panama
Not sure but I had expect a turn burn that is just a bit lighter maybe with the majority around 70-80% but when looking at how good the enemies position is I guess the 60% for the first punch is OK.

Yes, some form of luck is involved. Got thru turn 2 and only two rounds, 30% first round, 60% second round. On one hand I would expect the Germans to get maximum rounds each turn to demonstrate their overall superiority in all aspects. On the other hand, maybe the Poles are otherwise so overmatched that turn burn helps keep things balanced. I don't have enough experience with the scenario to know which is more correct.

Turn 3 I got 7 rounds, turn 4 I got 5 rounds and ended the turn at 60%. So far out of 19 rounds I've had 12 take 10% of the turn, 4 take 20%, and 1 each for 30, 50 and 60%.
