Which message level do you prefer?

I'm curious which message level you guys like. For recon, I go with 0 or 1. But for land battles, the choice is trickier. I like at least message level 3, which shows aircraft attacking but no ground elements attacking. If I want a quick resolution, I tend to go with that. But often I want more detail, and I find there's a big jump in detail from 3 to 4, as 4 shows you which ground elements got hit by what. Message levels 6-7, by contrast, are too detailed for me; they report "misses" by ground elements, which takes a long time.
So I guess for me the answer is: recon 0/1; battles 3 or 4. How about you?

Message level one, at most. I prefer not to get lost in the tactical weeds and like my turns to go fast.

same here...i also prefer my turns to go quick...now if there were unit pics like tanks and planes and infantry attacking each other...like WITP...then maybe i would raise the message level to see some of the fighting...

Level 1 - but sometimes I like 2 or 3 to see the effect of an SU - I am still learning.

Level three, maybe I'll try lvl four. Then again, I haven't meddled with the grand campaigns yet.
Hm, a quick poll should give easy results, polls aren't allowed anymore?

A poll option would be great, but I don't see a way to make one.
I'm actually kinda glad to hear most of you are using the lower levels. I was wondering if the greater detail was crucial to success, heh. Sounds like it's not.
I *would* be inclined to watch more detail if there were little animations, as in WITP. I especially miss the air-to-air animations. I find it a bit hard to absorb how much air losses I have in each battle -- there are lots of lines of text to read for each combat. A visual display would be easier. But obviously this is a low-priority "eye candy" request.

I`d like to have more detail but anything higher than Level 1 just takes too long. It`s mainly the Recon that does it. V.fast recon results and a bit more info for ground combat would be best.

It doesn't really matter much to me except for one thing, when the AI takes his turn I want the messages to stay on the screen for 0 seconds. That makes for a good 3 minute AI turn.

Too much detail takes too much time to resolve.

Level 1 but I turn on battles F11 and you get the detail anyway.

I use level 0 and then use f11 to see any details.

At first I was using level 7 and I kept decreasing it since I believe I could not really do anything with this information. It does not provide any added insight, it's just combat data flowing on the screen.
I have now settled to use message level 1.
I do however want to look at losses and results of battles during my turn so I have put the close delay at 10 seconds, and I close the combat window myself by pressing "Escape" when I have had enough time to look at it.
