The 75mm M3 is a low velocity gun. If you are asking which is best, it is not in the category. I believe the 17lber and the 77mm are the same round, but different guns. Not positive. The 17lber rules of your choices.

Goblin- A Goblin frowns at the M3

IIRC the 77mm fires the same projectile (APCBC) as the 17pdr (maybe also APDS??) but with a smaller cartridge.

OTOH the HE content of teh 77/17pdr rounds is smalll compared with teh 75mm... So if you wanted HE then 75mm would be best.

ISTR reading that a recommended (wish list) for WW2 UK tank force would be M4 105mm how for HE and Firefly (17pdr equiped M4) for AT.

17pdr is the king here, little argument about that is there?

I believe the 77mm was a short-barreled 17pdr. Another aspect of what a crappy tank the Comet was, that it wouldn't take a full sized 17.
