Since there is no flank protection your spearhead will be cut off. This might hurt you later on. I usually bypass Minsk on T2 and take it on T3 preferring to pocket as many units as possible while my spearheads should be at Vitebsk by then.

Yes, they mostly get cut off even by the AI, but I keep the Pz Corps ready plus some INF Divs. I think they are visible in the shot. It is a trade off - isolation for capturing 2 cities and factories(?) on T1. A human would likely do a better job at strongly isolating the spearheads.
