I've been playing the GC against the AI and it's now Spring, 1942. I recently noticed that I've got some 450+ FW190As in the pool, but none of the Luftwaffe fighter units have changed from ME109 to FW190. Oddly enough, I do recall some FW190s previously flying, and there's 30 losses shown for FW190s in the casualty report, but no one is flying FW190s now.

When I try to manually change any particular ME109 group, the FW190 doesn't show up as an available aircraft to switch to.

Am I missing something?

This issue has been brought up a few time times I believe.  The air war is something the developers are working on to make improvements.  Just what their going to do I have not a clue.

fw190's are fighter bombers , me109's are fighters -- fighters upgrade to fighters , therefore no upgrade path!
You can usually 'upgrade' some Ju 87b/d units with the Fw190's and i think some of the Me110 units also.

Ok, that sounds like it is not intentional hehe, they will fix it... unless the aircraft you are referring to are 190Fs and Gs?

I'm not sure but there may also be a similar one for the Italians with the Saetta (which is classed as a FB) not upgrading to anything. Is it possible that it should upgrade to the Folgore? The factory does...

I changed the FW190a to fighter in the editor and can change them now (in new started games), but they still don't upgrade automatically during supply phase, no matter how many are in the pool.
