PATCH PLEASE... makes me sad

OMG, just when I thought maybe the worse was over, then I get to turn #8. Also, what is going on such that Rundstedt is no where in my leaders pool? He was dismissed, not shot? Thought he'd show up. Funny, but sad, part is that Von Bock who was himself dismissed few turns back from AGS took his spot. The leaders issues continue to kill me one turn at a time.

I know this was tested, but is it just really bad luck that I've had 2 Army Group Commanders dismissed by the start of August 1941? I know testers had much on their plate or maybe this is recent regression bug. I just had to play two games to see that this was a serious issue for WitE. Sorry, but just a bit down since I've put a lot into my game so far and then get hit with this. I know people working hard to make it better...any chance for a patch this weekend or early next week? Even though this happened, I'll be strong and continue to enjoy what really is a great game!

You're not cheering me up ... hehe

I saw that post, just hoping maybe it could be a bit sooner. I understand there is a process in place to release these patches which sometimes can consume extra time even when code is ready. I'll try and be patient in the meantime.

Nope. He went to France... for good [:'(]

Seriously. This general issue can be a real deal breaker. I mean for example the Italians get one decent general Messe. I had him dismissed or killed, I forgot, but hey this guy is simply irreplacable. The same applies to the few other decent minor axis allied generals.

The Germans at least have a lot of decent generals and I believe they do get additional ones as the war goes on. But still, the waste of APs is a real pain in the butt, especially if you have the omni present Sodenstern becoming the next commander of a Panzer Group that is trying to encircle Moscow...

Good grief, you're complaining that this has happened in TWO games??? If you can show that it has happened in FIFTY games, then you might have half a leg to stand on...

I don't think you understand the concept about what I was suggesting. There were other posts about leaderships changes to come. End result is Joel and Gary have agreed that no dismissals for Germans will occur prior to 12/15/41. Here's the link to the upcoming patch look at #7.

They agreed that even a chance of a dismissal for a top German general early in the game should never occur.

IMO, I find your reply to my post confrontation and with no merit to this forum. I was sharing my experience and thoughts about how significant this situation would be, even if it happened ONCE to anybody.

Please don't treat this forum as your avenue to post petty personal attacks about somebody's attempt to sharing gaming experiences. The forum is about making suggestions and sharing experiences in WitE, not attacking somebody at the level you attempted.

It is stupid to complain about something that is being fixed.

Yes! Why is good old Georg von Sodenstern seemingly omnipresent?

Coz for some reason if someone at army or corps level gets dismissed, lo and behold, here comes Sodenstern!!!! [:D] I think he's got a high political rating. So I just send him to one of rear commands when I have APs to spare...

Maybe it's just in my games and thankfully its being tackled by the devs

yes, I've been down that road. have already apologized to those. But from now on I'm going to make sure my post are rooted at assisting those who care to make the game better.

That's "sad"? I'll tell you what's really sad. On my first PBEM turn (obviously as Soviet) I ASSASSINATED Vassilevsky... using the HQ Relocate thing to make his HQ leave the almost Lvov pocket. Now that's sad [:@] ... [:D] ... am I crying? Nope [8D]

Heres why maybe you've heard of it. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. If you let someone know it's really effecting you then sometimes you might help get a patch pushed out faster. Perhaps even get to try a patch that is supposed to fix the issue. Like my mother used to say if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all.

Nothing to cry about on that front. If a german (or soviet) HQ gets circled early in the game and has to use the relocation option to jump through enemy lines. You should have a chance your general dies. Nothing to complain about if that german/soviet general dies.
That is a completely separate issue then leader dismissals.

And whining troublemakers should never be able to get patches out faster. They'll whine even louder if the patch comes out too fast and doesn't "solve" their pet "issue".

Not sure what that means, but that is at least consistent for this thread. [:D]

The only person i'd consider a trouble maker is someone talking about a game who didn't pay money for it. If someone paid they have as much right to say their peace. Someone has as much right to talk about things that frustrate them as you do to come in and start calling them "troublemakers". That being said yes there are always going to be people who will complain high and low about anything and everything. Knowing ara for a few years now he's not one of those people.
We all get frustrated and vent on the boards at times. We all sometimes might even be snarky to one another at times. But most people will always apologize and move on.
He just wants the game to be better. We've both put a few weeks into playing the GC in PBEM. Since the game has launched the forums have done a good job of making it out to be that the soviets can get into berlin in 1943. I'm not bringing up that debate now since it still rages. But i'm simply illustrating the midset of an axis player. Now as ara is playing the axis i can understand the frustration when you lose one of your top generals and he simply disappears. Doesn't say he's executed but he's gone.

So not only do you come into the game having this thought in the back of your head that you have to play perfectly if you want any chance of winning but then a game bug eats one of your leaders. I can empathise with that. I think anyone who really sits and thinks it through can see where ara is coming from.

You being a long time witp as well term you should know how frustrating it can be. :) You owned the launch version of witp right? I mean it was a night and day difference between witp and witp:ae. The final patch to original witp was still a far way better then launch day witp. Even UV and witp saw a ton of improvements. That stuff only comes about when "trouble makers" push for things.

I hope i didn't come across as a jerk because i'm trying to be respectful. If not sorry we can hug it out later. <3
