Is there a way to avoid installing this game to Program Files?

If the installation process does not give you the option prior to install you can try this. After install cut-n-paste the folder to where you want it. Find the registry settings (run regedit.exe) and update anything in there to reflect new path. Downside to this is you may not be able to play mods.

ModSwap can be edited to install to any path you require... so mods should play just fine.

I've hear it has to be in "programs" because of hard paths in the app. Not true?

99% sure it's only for ancilliary apps... either modswap builder or BHQ skin program.

Modswap and CoI should work wherever they are placed.

Don't the remakes default to installing in C:\Matrix?
