i'm not sure how this wroks now but in the vanilla I observed that when I put an agent on this it never gained experience, even if they foil enemy agents plans

come to think of it I never saw many agent missions from my enemies either...even when i had agents on 400 experience on counter intelligence (so they would catch the enemy agent if he tried something funny)

is the enemy AI using agents?

Considering my counter intelligence agents have been gaining experience every now and then I would say yes, but I don't really pay attention to that stuff and it's really easy to miss. Most often they get caught for stealing maps or research.

I have never seen agents on counterintelligence gain experience. Maybe the automation made them do some small offensive mission when you weren´t looking?

I have agent automation turned off. This is with the latest beta btw.

All the agents with a completion date have been doing counter intelligence since I recruited them (it sets a date for some reason). The ones that have 'until cancelled' I've used for deep cover missions, and are currently under intelligence duty.
