Question on LCU Morale

I have LCU in Imphal (a/b 8) and Kohima (a/b 5) with no Japanese presence, all fully supplied and both base on a road with Imphal the furthest. All are set to combat mode with Kohima still buiding up its a/b. There is little Japanese air ops against either.
Problem is all the LCU in Kohima are steadily but slowly losing morale but Imphal is rock solid at 99. There is a an Air HQ in Imphal but that shouldn't be the reason and leader stats and unit exp are similar. The only real difference between the two is the a/b size and the building up of the a/b in Kohima.
Any ideas?

Isn't that the Malaria area ? If so, your units should suffer morale and disruption when out of a base or in a small base.
Edit: The manual only talks about fatigue penalties, but who knows ?

They are both in the Malaria area. The base is smaller, 5 as opposed to 8, but I thought the combined level of air and port had to be 10 to overcome Malaria problem entirely at a base.

I'm not sure how it works and what level completely negates the effects. It might be that you need 10 to have no effects, but that 8 is still better than 5. Malaria is still the only thing I can think off though, maybe someone else has a better idea ?

IIRC, it also depends on number of support troops you have. Manual says:
without support troops, units at the base will not recover from the fatigue they suffer from
combat and malaria. I think (not sure) that if you have less-than requred amount of support, you can still suffer from malaria.

Don't think its a support problem. Support is 412 required 208, fatique is around 25 and disruption 6-9 for each unit in Kohima while it's around 10 ond 1 respectively in Imphal.
Currently sitting at 88 in a/b expansion. When it done I'll turn off construction to see what happens.

What are the Leadership, Inspiration, and Admin skill levels of the HQs?

The Inspiration value of the LCU's own Leader affects Morale big time. It should be at least 50.

Rest mode helps a lot too.

Not that either. Except for one unit in Kohima inspiration is over 50, many up at 60.

Fat has to be less than 20 and disruption less than 5 and no enemy and a couple of random checks to succeed to get morale to increase. Rest mode will help with this as well as not being attacked.
