Can anyone tell me why the German artillery has no ammo not even for their K98 at the start of the scenario?

IIRC the scenario starts just after the historical opeing bombardment. The guns have fired off their ordance and the effects are reflected in the state of the American front line units.

Including their K98s? That would be dedicated, but probably unnecessary. [:D]

Well I don't mind having no ammo for the artillery even if it's hard to belief they used everything in the 20 minutes that the initial bombardment took but giving only Panzerfaust ammo and nothing for rifles & pistols looks more than strange.

All scenarios that start on December 16 begin without artillery ammo for the reasons Arjuna gave. You should see artillery stocks and small arms start to fill during the next resupply stage. Small arms ammo for the artillery men had to start out reduced just like the big guns because the scenario editor couldn't differentiate between ammo types for a single estab. These Artillery are displaced so far behind the front that it should never be an issue.

OK but I wonder why I can type in numbers into the units ammo supply at all if these values aren't saved.
