The first turn went well (Thank You, guys)![:)]

Now I do have a problem. To break through I will have to use air strikes against units.

I want to use Stukas with plenty of fighter cover to draw enemy fighters.

Then I was planning to use the LufTwaffe to strike Soviet AB with fighters and levelbombers.

But for some reason when I am to choose the flights for the ground strike NO fghters appear??

The fighterbase is only 7 hexes away?[&:]

But when am to strike a AB way futher away the fighters are selectable?

German fighters are very very short ranged. You will not need to do dedicated air strikes to break thru. Just hit the unit and if you have Ground support turned on they will fly automatically.

But I don't hit air fields after turn1 so not about that. I will over run the air base, but I want my air force for GS and re-fuel missions.

sometimes the AI doesnt pick the base to start bombing mission that is closest to target? try left clicking the fighter base thats close to your target and then doing the bombing mission as you did before, all units assigned to mission form up there and your fighters should have the legs to escort. of course you may need to review your air doctrine settings too.
