Hi,

I seem to be having trouble bombarding planets and invading them. I am playing human and I have been crushing the nearby Boskara (they started it).

However, when I order my ships equipped with nuclear devastators to bombard their planets nothing happens. Similarly, invasions fail. (Yes my troopship is full of troops).

Help?

I actually used bombardment for the first time today in my current game. Dropped the hammer of epic pain on the Gizurreans and Boskaras who were expanding ridiculously fast. I just hadn't the troops or time to train enough and Gizurreans and Boskaras had really bad rep so I could bombard them without any significant rep hit. Quite satisfying actually.  
Sorry for babbling. The point here is that you have to select ships with bombardment weapons, right-click the planet and select bombard planet X. The troop issue is more weird one. Usually troop transports deploy troops automatically when you right-click on the target planet. Try using the right-click method and select invade. That should work.

if you have only that troop ship selected moving the cursor over the planet should change to a read crosshair if I remember correctly....then you're good to go, right click and wath the battle
mind you, you need to follow the planet as it will not occur immediately (follow the red units, aka invading ones, as opposed to the defenders)

I got as far as the red crosshair bit, but then when I clicked to invade, once it got to the system I just got a note saying it had completed its mission. If I clicked again it would just do the same. The ship has plenty of troops.

just to eliminate known issues, is it also sufficiently fueled? it does not retreat, correct? just sits idle?

.....and is the troop transport design being used set
to 'Invade immediately'? Also, does the planet have a
Planetary Shield active? Just some inquires. Seems like
it might be a glitch.

I thought same also. In my current game I had glitched constructor early in the game that couldn't build anything. It could move around and do everything else but build. I had to scrap the constructor and build a new one. Might be something similar like this.

J, did the construction had the manufacturer or construction yard components damaged? did it do the run to a port to get the resources for what you ordered it to build?

The design was set to 'Do Not Invade'. I had not even noticed that setting. All working fine now!

Nope, it was all fine. When I ordered it to build something the constructor just twitched little and "Constructor X has completed its mission" message popping immedietly after the command. The ship was fine in general but just couldn't follow the build commands.

strange, the troop ship desing does not have this setting by default if I remember correctly
