The encirclement is easily broken at the 12 o clock position

Definately would be vs a human

Impressive looking. A good human Soviet player would eat you alive for that as there are so many holes there that it would be pretty easy for the Soviets to re-establish supply and maybe even isolate your own panzer groups. Not to mention that you just hit bad weather so its going to take you weeks if not months to attempt to eliminate that huge pocket. Before you even finish, you are going to be in the blizzard with serious defensive issues. Be interesting to see how that plays out.

You could kill them before blizzard. You have about 6 turns to go before then.

But yes, against the AI. A human would make you pay dearly and most if not all those panzer units would be destroyed due to being cut off. Remember, mud is almost a big an enemy as the Russians and the blizzard. Russians have a bunch of cav and they move really good in mud.

Ya think? [;)]

The fact that the Soviets are isolated indicate this is the start of the German move, so the initiative still rests with the Axis. Thus, he has the opportunity to try to open and widen the gap to the North to maintain the encirclement.

The problem for the Axis player is that he has let his Panzers get way too far ahead of his infantry. This is especially true in the North.

bloomstombs you have way too many infantry facing the Soviet line to the West. A unit every other hex is sufficient to "fix" your enemy. Everything else should be "rolling" to keep up with the Panzers and then when ready, create a good gap in their line before sending in the tanks. I usually shoot for at least a 3 hex gap and 4 if I can get it. You infantry should make up at least a quarter (better a third) of the actual encirclement. The more infantry you have actually in the encirclement means the quicker they can relieve the mobile forces and as you can see in your move, the less likely you are going to get isolated yourself.

Hi ,you are quite right. I left too many inf behind, also, when I took created this pocket there was very few soviets to the east of my panzers (that carpet you see was created on his turn ). And thirdly none of this made a difference.

I got rolled when the blizzards hit.

Right now its sometime in january, the soviets took a wrecking ball to south and center. Ive lost 1.5 million men to the soviets 3.7 million men.

And I feel like its pretty much over.
