As Warhammer 40K is heavily based on WWII or post WWII tactics, couldn't we make a (good) mod based on the designed?
I hated how their 5mm franchised turn into RTS and lost its model games feelings. I feel like BFA is just a good tactical game that could easily be turned into Space Marine (improved more verisimilitude in unit behaviour).
What do you think about that?

It's an awesome idea, but could be a lot of work building all those different unit models!
Cheers

Dawn of War II is actually a pretty good and fun. There's also no base building, purely tactical combat focused. The animations look pretty badass and authentic too. Overall I think they've done a good job staying true the table top universe despite being it an RTS and not a true PC conversion to the table top. (Although DoWI was a classic style RTS, DoWII is NOT)
It would be cool to have a JTCS, Steel Panthers, or a John Tiller Squad Battles type Wargame incarnation of W40k though.

I have play both Dawn of war, but don't feel the same tactical experience I had with the model game (and you can kill a tank with a rifle).
We sure all want, but bottom line I don't have the skill or time to do the model. I am willing to study the stats and what to devellop.
I wonder if the game can account for the Marines power armour or Ork endurance? that as a big faillure of the 5mm game, the marines get shot as easily as the imperial guard.

The game model is scripted so you can change it to anything you like. I don't know another game where you can control as much as you can in BA without needing to write code & compile it. You could add buildings that generate new units, you could add flying units, hover units, regenerating units, exploding units - basically anything you can think of can be done if you have the time.

Rites of War was probably the closest computer incarnation of the table-top game, and that was friggin' fantastic!
