It should be in the folder named "Chlanda".
If you pursue this, I recommend obtaining Rockin Harry's notes on this program. He had provided some very useful hints and tips.

Map Question

Hi Harry:
I would think you or maybe others know more about SPWAW maps than anybody I can think of. This may be a very dumb or obvious question that has been answered in prior posts but the search came back negative. Maybe you know the answer.
My question is about the standard maps used by the AI in computer generated campaigns. I assume when the game was originally designed, somebody (or bodies) spent many hours designing those maps or does the computer generate them randomly?
If generated randomly, well, end of story. However, if they are drawn from maps orginally installed in the software, can they be remade or improved?
They are of very poor quality compared to the work others have done. Just look at Jess M4's map contest! What great work!
It would be a massive project but if 30 or 40 people all chipped in 10 or 15 maps thats 600 maps! We easily have that many good map makers.
I would think most of the 50,000 or so SPWAW players use this feature the most as compared to scens or campigns. I make this assumption based on the results of various SPWAW polls by others.
It sure would make a big difference to the basic game.
I have always wondered if it was possible. Any thoughts on this subject?

Hi Bruce,
AFAIK all maps are generated randomly by use of various variables like "Woods Density", "Rough Density" ect. I recall the SPWAW manual also has some info on this topic, but I´m not certain by now. The long campaign also appears to have a table for various battle locations, that contains all the variables for making random maps, roughly based on the terrain the battles were fought on.
The camo group SP2WW2 guys claim to use many more "variables" for their randomly generated maps and the results speak for themselves. Nonetheless..it was their decision to focus on the map making routines and all in all I consider map making more of an art form, the more a dumb computer has to draw them.
I guess Combat Leader will let us forget about SPWAW (randomly generated) mediocre and sometimes unrealistic maps!:)
