I have noticed some comments from Germans getting caught by surprise by withdrawing Axis units. While these are on the reinorcements & withdrawals list, part of the information missing that would be helpful for a German is where to expect the withdrawal and plan accordingly. So while this list is not complete (most of the minors are not listed here and I did not go through the entire war since things will change a lot on which divisions are where), it should help the Germans in the early going.

Turn 4 7/10/41. Carpathian Army Group withdraws (don't have any units assigned to it if you can avoid it)

Turn 10 8/21/41. Slovakian Corps and 1st Slovakian Infantry div withdraw (watch what you have attacked to the Slovakian corps).

Turn 21 11/6/41. Withdraw 1st Cav division (AGC, XXIV panzer corps), and 99th Jager division (AGS HQ)

Turn 22 11/13/41. Withdraw Mobile Hungarian Corps

Turn 25 12/4/41. Withdraw 2nd Hungarian Motorized Brigade.

Turn 26 12/11/41. Withdraw 1st Hungarian Motorized Brigade

Turn 28 12/25/41. Withdraw 7th Flieger Division (Entered 9/25/41)

Turn 29 1/1/42. Withdraw Slovakian High Command

Turn 46 4/30/42. Withdraw 900th Lehr Motorized Brigade (AGC 9th Army)

Turn 50 5/28/42. Withdraw 10th Panzer division (AGC XXXXVI Panzer Corps)

Turn 54 6/25/42. Withdraw Das Reich SS Motorized Division (AGC XXXXVI Panzer Corps)

Turn 55 7/2/42. Withdraw 22nd Airlanding Division (AGS 11th Army)

Turn 59 7/30/42. Withdraw LAH SS Motorised Division (AGS 1st Panzer Army)

Turn 72 10/29/42 Withdraw Totenkopf SS Motorized Division (AGN 4th Panzer Army)

Stopped at this point. Hopefully this will help German players not get caught by surprise without having to check reenforcements schedule every turn.

7th Fliegler tend to just garrison Brest Liv or something close to Germany in my games. I've not been in position for any airborne operations by the time they arrive, look around and leave....

If you have shift+R activated you will see units that are whithdrawing in the next 1-5 turns bordered in red on the map. They'll also be listed in the reinforcements and withdrawal screen.

GREAT! Now tell OKH to not withdraw them when I might need them...

Its interesting to see what happened to some of the units that withdrew:

The 22.Infanterie-Division (Luftlande) next took part in the Invasion of the Soviet Union as a part of Armeegrupp Süd, fighting in southern Russia with the 11.Armee. Moving through Romania it crossed the Pruth River and fought to the Dnestr River and Stalin Line, which it fought through. Moving on to cross the Bug and Dneiper Rivers, the division eventually fought into the Crimea where it took part in fierce and bloody fighting for Sevastopol. The 22.Infanterie-Division led the assault against the heavily defended fortress city in its sector and stormed numerous Soviet positions, notably taking the Stalin Werke and Wolga Werke.

After fighting in the Crimea, the 22.Infanterie-Division (Luftlande) was transfered to Crete where it took part in security and occupation operations in the region of Rethymon and Iraklion until 1944. During its occuption of Crete, the 22.Infanterie-Division was also used as the main assault force in various amphibious assault operations in the Aegean Sea in 1943 and 1944, most notably against the Islands of Kos, Kalymnos, Leros and Samos. The unitis well known for its role in the occupation of Leros against fierce British and Italian resistance in November of 1944.

With German prospects in the Med fading, the 22.Infanterie-Division (Luftlande) was transfered from Crete and the Aegean in 1944 to Greece where it would take part in anti-partisan operations against Tito's forces before surrendering in May of 1945.

They will eat up reinforcement later until at their expected strength when withdrawing, so you don't gain anything by that. Don't know what happens if they are overstrength when they are leaving though.

They need to rebuild to 75% before withdrawing. So, the first 25% of losses are "free", but after that you have to make up the difference anyway.

Another poster says he doesn't use 7th Flieger much. I wouldn't drop them as paras really, but they are a very good infantry division, if only for a short time. Use them as such.

Several withdrawing units, as Ketza pointed out, have interesting dates with destiny, including 22nd Airlanding (Crete), 10th Panzer (Tunisia), 2nd, 9th, and 11th Panzer (1944 France), etc. Even 7th Flieger ended-up renamed on Sicily, and in Italy after that.
