PBEM end of turn

When a PBEM turn ends the engine forces the player to leave the game (the game simply terminates), and you can't do anything about it. This is quite annoying.

Is this some kind of protection against cheating?

The point is that it would be useful to be able to have a look at the map and inspect the situation once you've finished your turn. Can't this be implemented in a future patch?

It is indeed part of the anti-cheating measures.

There is a file produced after the turn ends called END_OF_TURN_DO_NOT_SEND.... something something and you can open that dude in TOAW as a saved file so you can look around and check things out.  Sometimes I'll post those bad boys in my AAR's so my readers can get a more in-depth look around.

Yes, but it would be nice if the game program wouldn't shut down as well.

I may try for the next patch. That was the easiest fix to a problem with he COW version that allowed people to cheat. I don't remember exactly how it went, but it was something like open the editor, open a save file, then go back to the editor or something. Exiting the program was the easiest way to fix the problem.
