unentrenchment via arty

I have been pounding the Soviet division in 104,170 for the three rounds and it's STILL entrenched. I'm wondering if the combat mechanics in this new version 3.4 are changed so much that pounding by arty isn't having the effect it used to have because in the old version both occupants of the hex would have been unentrenched by now.

Maybe in FITE a different artillery value/combat modifier? Or some saboteurs in the factories of the Reich... You got a truckload of duds. *kidding* In Anzio@2km my tube and rocket artillery works fine against Tom's digged in defenders. Same for CFNA 41-43, where I hammer Martin's entrenched units out of their foxholes. The defenders seem to be in a fortified town, maybe that makes 'm harder to shell'm out?

104/170 is fortified in FitE - as the Oberst said this must be it.

19.2.2 Artillery vs. Entrenchments
Artillery can lower the effectiveness of prepared defensive positions during combat. The effect is intended to model the earthchurning tendencies of heavy Artillery and is tied to the weight of individual shells. Heavier pieces are much more effective than lighter pieces. MRL’s (Multiple Rocket Launchers) generally do not receive this advantage. While the Anti-Personnel strengthsof heavy Artillery may seem weak (due to very low rates of fire), weapons of 150mm or larger can be very effective against entrenched enemies.

Looks like ya could use some more heavier artty on this, Larry! Fortified may require 210's or better, eh?
