Hello All,

We have made a quick change to the 1.05 update and made it available in the Members Club. It should correct the CTD while saving. This is a comprehensive update, so you can use it if you haven't updated to 1.05 yet.

I just want to say thanks to doomtrader for a quick turnaround on this. I did a quick check and it seems to be good. I don't have time to give it a complete look at this time. Will have to be later.

Thanks, I had no problem with the CTD, but had a problem with map scrolling, which is now gone. [:)]

Well I'm happy that the patch for the patch is out... But I believe that the original 1.05 patch should not have gone out at all. Because it basically broke the game and made it unplayable. I'm not sure who's beta testing it or what. But that was pretty sloppy QA if you ask me.

magickoji, are you saying that 1.05a is breaking something?

There seems to be two new problems introduced in 105a which were not evident in 103. These are: (1) when upgrading from division to corps the pp's go to extremely high values in the Pacific scenerio and in the Chinese scenerio there is a "free upgrade" (no pp charge) a calculation error seems to have been introduced. Note - the amount of pp cost for the division-to-corps upgrade is the same amount of remaining pp's after the upgrade. You can repair a lot of ships after upgrading to corps. LOL; and (2) for Quang-Si the flag is now a question mark where previously it was green.

Funny thing I just posted the division upgrade for free in the tech section.

Checked 3 scenarios, Australia, Pacific, Rising Sun

The units also become frozen for an unknown length of time.

After the upgrade they're frozen till a specific time elapses, to represent the retraining, etc. (I think, I hope). Looks like 1.05b is in the offing. There's a reason these are called beta, after all. In my experience as a programmer, a quickfix is always dangerous due to unintended and untested side effects.

Kudos to Wastelands for attempting the quickfix, a whuppin with a wet noodle for not engaging in more rigorous testing.

It is always a matter of pros and cons.
We have decided that solving this CTD issue is more important than anything else.

And yes, we are working on another patch for Storm over the Pacific and also for Time of Wrath.

Ron, do you mean you DOWed USSR as Japan in the Pacific scenario? We have checked it and there was no ctd http://screen.bitterglory.com/in/11-03/jpbrtadwf.png however our version already has some tweaks related with already revealed bugs, but not with situation you described. Could you please post last few lines from consoleout.txt ? Also any further description or a save game would be welcomed!

I have had one CTD with 1.05a. It was after pressing end turn after turn 9 in Pacific scenario. It has only happened once though.

Also, I can verify that in the Pacific scenario, upgrading divisions to corps has no cost and the units are frozen in place for about 5 turns. I should have paid closer attention to that, darn it!  I have not seen the PP explosion mentioned earlier.  I am running Vista Home edition, HP laptop, off the shelf, nothing fancy.

Forgot to include that in the reports menu, clicking on reports_commanders makes game CTD. That is repeatable each time.
