Pacific War

Have downloaded Pacific War to Windows 2000 box (5.00.2195 SP 2). Program completes intro to Credits and then hangs and dies. Suggestions?
The matrix version of Pacwar locks up on my 333 celeron computer running win98, but it plays fine and never locked up on my kids computer, a Pentium1, 233mmx running win 98 too.
Could never figure out why. I gave up.
