Here are some initial options for possible approaches to a winter version of the Place Names Mod.
Please comment and/or vote. All suggestions welcome!

You are really doing some great work!
I think 2 and 4 looks nice. Not really sure about the "snowflakes" though...
Would it be possible to post a shot of them with the game winter and blizzard graphics respectively on top? I assume that is how they would appear in game.

To use this mod I would recommend turning the winter and blizzard graphics off for the snowflakes version - it will be too much otherwise. I like Option 2 best, myself... Looks cold, but still has the colors showing through.

Certainly *not* the snowflakes, hehe, looks like a wallpaper I had as a kid. (no offense ofcourse, I really value your hard work).
Option 2 is my favorite too, sofar.

I agree. When I looked at them again this afternoon I thought "yuck"! LOL

When I first loaded your mod and ran the game through, to see the mud and snow effects, is was messy, therefore, I had decided to run with the weather graphics OFF. Hitler and Stalin did not have mud and snow on their maps and had to rely on weather reports, so I thought it more realistic to do the same.
However, your option 2 does give a nice 'chilly' look to the map, so if my attempt at realism collapses, then that option would be great to have. [:)]

Yes, I should have added a Read Me that said turn off weather graphics. The idea behind the mod is to remove the need for snow graphics and I was also looking at a possible mud season mod. As you say, the effects graphics are messy and the Int staff were not in the habit of sprinkling snow on our maps, as far as I can recall!
