Spelk has done pretty good in responding, I'll add my own few cents with his.
1. Can units move, attack, move, attack over and over all in one turn till the movement or attack points are used up? Or is the mechanic different?
No multiple-attacks in one turn over and over. This has been one of the biggest complaints (and bitching) I have seen on some of the (Grognard) message forums/newsgroups over the last two decades. Now yes, I know certain elements in the PG series used to do this
TO AN EXTENT, and yes, even 'REAL WAR-GAMES' like
TOAW allowed something like this, but that was only because you had to trade off TIME as a penalty for doing so. You also risked getting screwed right out of an entire turn if things didn't go your way and left up the creek without a paddle...
You're going to have to get used to a phased system here, which is a true & tested system ever since the A.S.L. days (and probably even before then).
2. Armour usually has more movement pouints and a greater combat value. Does it have any other variable?
Yes, armour actually comes with... armour ratings. And AT guns only really shoot at armour (but so can other tanks/destroyers).
Armour actually has other properties too, like being able to give opportunity fire in Attack posture, but also getting a column shift on the combat tables when you catch any soft-targets in open/clear terrain without any hard value units stacked with them.
3. Is there a short cut way to locate, fopr example, all the engineering units on the map?
Hmm, now that is something I haven't had to ever need before. To be honest I don't think there is a hotkey for that. I am wondering now which map are you playing where you feel you need this.
BTW, my top three hotkeys are '7' '8' and 'tab-key'.
I'll let you guess what they do if you haven't already...
