Seeing losses during enemy turn

I am supposed to be able to see losses during the preceding enemy turn in a PBEM game by looking at the losses screen the first thing I do when I open up the game file. However, that doesn't seem to work. Look at the enclosed picture. The numbers definitely don't match what I see when I look at the different combat reports. Something seems to be wrong here, or have I misunderstood something?

Yes, you are supposed to see those. Those include the losses taken from attrition during the logistics phase.

In this case, those losses are primarily from the logistics phase, which occurs immediately before his player turn.

Exactly. Amazing how prominently those extremely uninteresting statistics are shown. 60 guns fell off Soviet trucks ? 930 DUI deaths on muddy roads ? [>:]
A summary of all events for the last turn (i.e. total losses for all fighting + attrition) would be more interesting to see and get a feel for how you're doing.

I hate the losses screen because it only shows the current turn and the total. I need to see LAST TURNS losses, please.

It seems that this works on and off for me. Some turns the numbers seem reasonable, and sometimes they are like in the screenshot above.

The thing that can throw you off is that the first time in a turn that you open the losses report, you get the losses through the last full player turn to the current point in the turn. After you close it, then it resets to the amount suffered during the current player turn, since the reset. Depending on when you first open it, you can get some wildly different "totals" for the "turn"...[:D]

I don't think that is it. I open the losses screen the first thing I do when I open up the turn. I sometimes get what looks like reasonable numbers, some turns funny numbers. If i then close and look again, all numbers are 0 (which they should be, given that it has reset them).

Like now! I start WITE, load the PBEM file, hit the "l" button, and this is what I get. I sincerely hope the Soviets haven't found the way to kill Germans without suffering a single casualty!

Is this a server-based game? I've found that the server-based games tend to reset the loss counter when they run through a mid-turn save/load cycle. So, if your opponent saved the game mid-turn, resumed play, executed no attacks, then hit end turn, you will see things like this, since those losses are from the attrition/damage consolidations happening during interturn logistics phase.

Nope! Normal PBEM.

Odd...well, hopefully, the powers that be, will spot this and chime in. Best of luck, and just keep an eye on the final totals. When all else fails, running first look of turn totals and (old-school style) computing the differences will give you a complete picture of yours and your opponent's losses.

My understanding is that the losses that come upon loading a turn for the first time include all the losses from the previous player-turns combat/movement phase and from the current player turn logistics phase. If there were battles in the previous turn, you should see losss for both sides, although it will only include your attrition. We'll have to see whether one of the programmers has an idea why this might be happening in PBEM

I am only playing test games vs AI and am seeing exactly the same as JAMiAM.
The first view of the screen shows zero loss for the non turn "opponent" and what seems to be logistics phase losses for the side playing the turn.
This suggests that PBEM and AI games are similar.
The manual states in section 5.4.2.1.
Recent Battle and non-combat casualties. This includes men, guns
and AFV’s destroyed or damaged by combat in the most recent
combat or attrition losses determined during the preceding logistics
phase. This column is reset to zero by any action taken after the
battle or at the start of the phasing player’s action phase.
This seems to suggest that only the last combat event or the whole logistics phase is detailed?
