Aircraft Endurance and Ranges

I know this should be in the modding section but I don't get replies over there as fast as I get over here.
The editor manual says that the aircraft endurance is the number of minutes an aircraft can fly. Now there are also the different ranges, (normal, ext, max and with drop Tanks). If I want to modify an aircraft's range how should I do it so that it does not clash with the endurance i.e., what I'm trying to say is that for example, what if the normal radius value is greater than the endurance value, does it mean that the aircraft (if its slow) will have to ditch or crash land during a raid because the number of minutes ran out but the range was greater. It's all pretty confusing, how should I go about it. There must be some rules to ensure such a thing does not happen.

Dont take my word for it but I think that range is simply a factor of endurance/cruise speed, so depends on these values.

Endurance has no real bearing on the numbers that are in the the ranges.
I asked the very same question a long time ago and was told endurance is basically for show and you can directly enter the ranges.

I thought endurance was linked to "minutes flying or time flying" ?

Correct, endurance is flying minutes.
Not sure how it actually works, but it has been explained to me that endurance is a factor calculated primarily for air missions with mulitple airframe types - and I assume some of which potentially not moving at their cruise speeds, but slower. As a result, the hours flying time...or endurance...is a factor also used to determine mission feasibility, etc.
IIRC, endurance can be important when missions are targeting at ranges near maximum, or you are putting together airframes with significantly different cruise speeds.
Perhaps there is a better explanation out there?

Endurance also takes into account the 'wait' time for a raid to form up as some squadrons will have to loiter while other are planes taking off. This is especially true in CV ops. So a low endurance plane will not be able to 'wait around' as much as a different plane type that has a longer endurance.
So as an earlier poster pointed out, sending raids off at long ranges (not necesaryly max ranges either) will cause the raid to come in at different times rather than one large raid even if from the same airfield. As some of the AC had the endurance to wait for all the squadrons to form up, while the others did not have the endurance to wait so took off without them. After all the commander said to go right?
