One final time...

... I'll make this my last plea.

Can 2by3 please move forward the release of the Beta fixes for the OUTSTANDING BUGS addressed in the next patch, leaving the balance fixes until whenever they are ready?

I'd really like to continue my PBEM, but dont feel confident doing so until the bugs bedevelling me are sorted.

It sounds like some significant more time is needed for testing on the balance fixes - which is fine, understandable, and the way it should be.

But is there any reason why the bug fixes cant be released pronto?

Thank you, and out.

It's not that easy. I've been a software developer myself. If you release one part of the code, and then discover bugs there, while still developing other parts, you risk getting multiple code bases, which can be a major problem and a cause of still other hard to trace bugs. And many parts of the code tend to be interdependent, it might not be possible to release just the bug fixes even if you wanted to (which I for one probably wouldn't). We just have to be patient.

What he said. He said it a lot more politely than I could [:D]

Hi squatter. All I can say is we're all working as hard as we can to get this next one out ASAP.

I would like to demand that my manpower increase for my AAR game. This, I feel, is reasonable. Please have this done by tomorrow.

Why? Do you suffer from torrets syndrome?

No, my neurological responses are fine, but at my advanced age I have very little patience.

If you aren't past 40 you aren't advancing but retreating in a different direction. [:D]

Last time I asked for my manpower to increase, my Spam Filter overloaded from special offers from Canadian Pharmaceutical companies eager to sell me pills for what ailed me.

Be careful what you ask for...[;)]

If Matrix released a buggy update, they would get 10 complaints about that for every complaint about the update taking so long...
It will be done when it's done (as the chef said).

If Hitler and Stalin had had their 'manpower increased', would they have been nicer people?

For the record, when you say 'manpower increased', exactly what are you talking about. Depending on what it was, the answer would be perhaps history would be different. [:D]

Buggy bug fixes?

Again, I'm not asking for anyone to work harder or faster, or for longer hours, and I think that the support for this game is fantastic.

I'm simply requesting that they prioritize the release of bug fixes over engine improvements, and release bug fixes when they are done rather than bundle fixes and improvements together, meaning one cant be released before the other is thoroughly tested. Just a suggestion.

If you were having CTDs, and there was a fix, but the fix wasnt going to be released until a host of other unrelated gameplay balance issues were thoroughly tested, perhaps you'd feel the same.

In addition, I demand that WiTE gets linked with War in the Pacific in time for my Easter break. Also, there should be an optional waterway/link so that I can move the soviet Pacific Fleet to Lenningrad for my next offensive against Denmark.[X(]

Yes I agree that bug fixes have priority to game changes. Hopefully 2by3 is working on those bugs.

Though, I've had an epiphany of sorts or as Operah says an 'aha moment'. I'm starting to suspect criticizing computer games is very much like criticizing one's musical taste. The level of discussian quickly drops to personal attacks and ridicual. Almost as if the parties involved have an emotion connection to the game and pointing out faults with the game is seen as pointing out fault with the individual.

This forum is starting to turn rather mean spirited and of course being nasty is the best way to get someone else to see your point of view [:'(]
