Making good AARs

Perhaps this could wind up being a good thread to share ideas. My question is; when I save a game image in jpeg format, which I believe is required to post it, it seems to lose some quality. Is it the way I saved the image in ms paint? Also, what do you look for in a good AAR?

Roleplaying and original stories are nice.

You can set the jpg quality in the game options. I've set it to 100, but i rarely make a direct map export, mostly screenhots. You get good results in quality/file size with a JPEG quality of 95.
For editing i use
Paint.NET. It's free (creative commons licence), slim and easy to use. It also has the important arrows

(you can see this in my EA AAR over at GS).
