1943-45 Campaign Revised

Hi,

Attached is a revised version of the 43-45 Campaign. My goal was (and is) to present as historically accurate starting point for the campaign as possible (OOBs, TOEs and deployment), all according to the latest research. I consider this to be 70% ready (that's why it's called v0.7) - which is about 50% more than the stock version. There are still a lot of work to be done. For example, Soviet air forces still need major overhauling.

Here are a few screenshots that illustrate some of the changes:

Kursk Salient before (left) and after (right):

Enjoy!

I forgot to mention one thing that looks a bit odd on turn 1 for the Axis: all units start with Detection Level 0, so all the Soviet unit counters are blank at the start. Editing DL-levels with the editor is not working properly yet, so I set them all at once via a CSV-file. The effects are not so dramatic, especially after air recon and movement, but it may give a minor advantage to the Soviets if you really want to launch Zitadelle. DL-levels will be 'normalized' after editing has been made easier. Cheers!

Marketing is not my forte, but here are some "before and after" screenshots. German Lage Ost maps were really invaluable:

Leningrad region:

Germans are wasting some good infantry divisions in that maze.

Some significant changes in that area.

The Orel Salient:

Concentration of forces for Zitadelle is more evident in the latter.

Something is awfully wrong with this image, which is supposed to show the area between Kharkov and Stalino (can't be bothered to fix it, check it from the scen):

Anyhow it is evident that the Germans have to cover more ground NE of Stalino.

For your information, I'm currently rebuilding the Soviet Air Armies. Three of them have been reconstructed so far.

Away with random air regiments!

Historical unit strengths for these air units seem to be 20-50% lower, but equipment is upgraded.

One thing that I have just noticed is that there is a dramatic crash of the CV values of all front line units on turn 2.  Most stacks drop to CV 1, even ones that started as high as 15 or 20.  It recovers on turn 3 to the former levels.  You can observe this by playing a human vs human game and just clicking to end each turn without moving any units and looking up and down the front line on turns 1 and 2.

That sounds really odd and is something I haven't ever encountered including the PBEM I started a few days ago. [&:]

It is something I only noticed with the current beta patch, 1.04.30. It is easy to replicate with that beta patch, I didn't see that problem with the prior 1.03 version.
