Regime Name Changes

Is there a way to change the Regime Names in random games? I'd like to alter the names so that instead of using the regime "Nippon" or "The States" the game will load "Japan" and "The United States". Is this done via the editor, or is there a master file I can edit? Great game so far. Love the depth and the game engine itself. My only issue, and it is a minor nitpic, is some of the odd grammar and language used in the game. For example the button used to "Ditch" resources or the "Blow" bridge button seem more along the lines of slang and just a little out of place in the game. There were just a couple little things like that.

I think the game is great. I'd love to see some of the grammar corrected, but if not it's no big deal.

Thanks,
MJ

Once the screen comes up to start the game, hit the "edit" button (to the left of the "start" button).

Hit "OK" to clear the editor beta warning thing.

On the upper left of the screen, go to the 2nd column of grey buttons and hit the one next to "reg" (the 2nd grey button in the column).

On the left of the screen, in the "Regimes" box, you'll see all the regime names. Click on one of the names you want to change.

Go to the right to the first column of grey buttons. The 5th button down shows "name". Click that button.

Put in the regime name you want, then hit "OK" (or press <ENTER>).

Viola! Name changed. Repeat for any other names to change.

Firstly, thank you! This works, though the issue is that if you play with the shroud on, it won't let you edit anything. And if you turn it off, you know where all the other regimes are located. So I guess I just have to get used to the fact that Random Games are exactly that....completely random.

You can also edit the names in the appropriate stringlist of the generic.at2 file used for generating the random games.

Vic

I am not in front of my PC, so I can't check this: is the file generic.at2 an HTML file, or is this a TXT file I can open and edit?

Thanks,
MJ

It is neither a HTML or TXT file. You must use the game editor.
