Do you know it's name? Is it still listed in the commanders report?

It was the 81st motorized division in Lvov. I was playing as the germans. I did relocate the unit on the map and it looks as though it routed as a result of the combat but the combat report didn't show it routing.

Check the Soviet Log report (F5) for the next turn and see if it was disbanded. Motorized divisions can get disbanded and return later as a rifle division. The Soviet Unit Losses screen too will show if it was disbanded.

This was during the first turn of the game during the Germans move.

As I mentioned, motorized divisions have a chance of being disbanded so I would still check the Soviet log report or the unit destroyed list to see if it was disbanded. If you don't see it on either list (should be on both), then it might be a bug.

is it possible for me to check this if I'm playing as the Germans. The unit was clearly routed I can see the routed unit on the map. The combat report simply does not say it was routed. OK F5 next turn not that far along yet :)

I'm guessing it routed then disappeared during a logistics phase, and will return in 11 weeks as a rifle division.

Is this an ai or pbem game? If it is an ai you can easily change it to 2-player then advance to the soviet turn and look at the Soviet Log report. It won't show up on the German Log report and I don't think it shows up on the German Unit Loss screen. If it is pbem you can ask your oppenent to check it out.

It took me a while to figure this one out. I have windows 7 and don't have ms paint like what I had on vista. I need to play with this new stuff more the figure out how to work it.

This a game where I'm playing as the axis against the Russian AI. I'm still working turn 1 atm and the logistic phase has not happend yet. I'll check it out Saturday. :)

OK, this has happened over and over again now. I fly a air resupply mission and I losse 10 or more Ju-52's every mission every mission and this is with no Russian fighter opposition or flak anywhere around.

Yeah, I don't think that is a bug per se, but just how it's reported. I think what that refers to is losses of all kinds, including creashes, planes not functioning (eg damaged to the point where they need repair), etc. I've flown a mission with 10 Ju-52s and its reported 15 losses. I am assuming that includes 5 planes that never got into the air.

But, I am no expert in the air war... i just don't have the patience to pore over screens and click endlessly ;)

As far as I know, the reserve units after battle dispositions were never displayed. Thus, if they routed, if you weren't paying attention when the battle happened, saw where it was committed from, and saw where it bounced to, you had no way of knowing. I could be wrong, but I don't remember ever seeing the reserve units being listed as routed in the combat report, whether they routed, or not.

I watched and could see everything. I knew the division can from Lvov and found where it routed too.

I uderstand what you are saying but every mission is loosing 8, 10, 11 Ju-52's with no flak or air opposition.

Are the Ju-52s being destroyed, or just damaged?

Destroyed. I get a message at the start of the mission when I go to max detail and it say Ju-52 need maitenance. That many are dying every mission to operational losses. No combat no Flak.

Sounds excessive, although Gary did intentionally crank up the amount of operational damage that air transport missions take (he did this months ago, but I can't remember if it was before initial release of the game). Sounds like the number destroyed versus damaged is more than we wanted or is desirable.

it was at initial release.

Just for info, I am running about the max air supply per turn and the only time I lose more than two or three Ju52 per run is when I run into massive fighter opposition. Usually I don't lose any. This is with the 1.04.11 exec

EDIT I am also running with the default air doctrine settings
