I have noticed in 3 or 4 detailed battles that I will have a unit of mine suddenly bolt forward several hexes out of our set defensive line to attack the enemy - usually as I am ctrl spacing to pass the turn as the enemy closes and we wait. I hadn't seen mention of this erratic behavior in the manual or forums and was wondering about it. Modeling overly aggressive units charging on their own? or am I missing something as I learn the game? Thanks for any info.

I am guessing that the unit in question is out of command, that forces ytou to lose control of it, and is a severe pain, espesially since they will gladly charge right into the middle of the enemy lines allowing itself to be overrun. They will also often split into two units which I do not like since you cannot combine them again during the battle and each partion tends to be small.
