Mouse Help

Hello:

Sorry to have a question so soon. When in PzC, my Logitech M310 mouse is tracking poorly - acting like the old mechanical mice when they had dust inside them. Outside PzC, the mouse is fine.

Any thoughts?

Gerry

When you get to the main game page try going into options and changing the Use Inverted Mouse setting. That may help.

Good Hunting.

If your mouse is 'lagging' or 'floating' you might try to turn down some of the Options. Is this in the Novy scen or the tutorial.

Thanks
rick

Jerky mouse is usually a low spec computer issue. Could be a driver issue too.

Thanks for the responses. I have a laptop with a 2.5 GHz processor and 2 GB of RAM. Is this going to work?

I turned off Shadows and went to the lowest resolution but the mouse is still not tracking properly.

Take care and thanks for all the work ye have done on this.

Gerry

Sounds like plenty of computer power. Can you try a different mouse? Update the mouse driver?

Some mouse drivers have a setting for vsync that might affect how well the mouse tracks. toggling that off if your mouse driver has that setting. Was this any more noticeable on the Novy scenario than on the Tutorial Scenario?

thanks

Hello:

I found a way to turn off vsync in the video card but I cannot see any way to do that in my Logitech mouse. It uses software called Setpoint to control the settings but I cannot see that one.

Thanks,

Gerry

i think it was actually in the video that the vsync control might have helped, so if that didn't help, I'm not sure what else to suggest. which scenario is this in?

thanks

I appreciate your persistence. It's just the Tutorial scenario.

I also notice other problems. When I hit Tab it doesn't always focus on that unit.

When Tab works, should you be able to zoom out a little, IOW you want to focus on one unit but just not at that exact camera angle.

Thanks again, Gerry

First you select a unit, then Tab to take you to the over the shoulder of the Commander viewpoint. It won't work if a tank is buttoned. You can then scroll wheel in to see a closeup, aka binocular view, of what he sees. Tab again unlocks.

If it is a problem in the Tutorial but not in the Novy scenario, then it isn't a computer performance issue. Howver, the tutorial does have weather animation, that might be causing a problem with your specific setup. Try going into Options and turning weather off. let us know if that helps.

you are right Tab should always focus on the unit, except when you are already focussed on a unit. in that case Tab will 'unfocus'.

This is also how you zoom out a little. Tab to the unit, then hit Tab again and you should be sitting just behind and a little higher than the unit.

Thanks
Rick

First, thanks for the Tab tip. That's just what I wanted.

I noticed the mouse worked in the Novyy scenario. But now it also works in the Tutorial also. No idea what happened all of a sudden. Very happy now. Someone I have spend hours on this game tonight...

Hi Gerry,

Glad to hear it. If you experience mouse issues again, please press F1 in the game and let us know what it says in the top left corner of the screen as far as your frames per second and memory usage.

Regards,

- Erik
