I am very interested in hearing your opinions on the "best sources" for organization, strength, location, and disposition of the following:
Axis Air Forces
Axis Ground Forces
Soviet Air Forces
Axis Ground Forces
...as pertains to Operation Uranus, 19 November-24 December 1942.
Thanks in advance for your book titles and/or web links.

Building the scenario...
Using the map shown
here as a reference, I sketched out a rough outline of the front line for Operation Uranus. This was accomplished by clicking on the desired hex along the frontline (with the Axis Player Go to Map Mode selected), and then pressing the "U" key to designate control of the selected hex to the Axis Player. You can see part of what that looked like by viewing the unshaded hexes below (SOUTH of) the hex highlighted in blue in the image below.
When the sketching out of the front line was complete, I then clicked on the EASTERN most Axis hex (unshaded) at the very top row on the map, and then used the "S" key to allocate all points WEST of the selected hex to the Axis. I then worked my way down the map, sweeping hexes from EAST to WEST using the "S" key to allocate the control of hexes to the Axis player.
NOTE: By default, use of the "S" key allocates all points EAST of the selected hex to the Soviets (and vice versa if the Soviet Go to Map Mode is selected).

I'm waiting for Glantz to release his third volume on Stalingrad.
Anyone got an idea when this is going to happen?
PS
I like your Korsun Scenario.
Looking for more.

Not a source per se, but I remember playing the TOAW-COW Uranus scenario "Frozen Steppes' by Jaroslaw Flis and finding it well researched and fun to play.
The link on the scenario depot is
http://www.the-strategist.net/RD/scenar ... php?Id=424
For your convenience I posted a zip file with the scenario here:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1180829/Frozen% ... Cow%29.zip
If you are familiar with the game firing up the TOAW edit should show up lot of info on units etc.
Hope it helps!

Me too. I've had volume III on my amazon wishlist for awhile now. I have the first two volumes of the trilogy and have found them to be a treasure trove of information for potential Eastern Front scenario designers.

Hi!
A preliminary map. I have only a " summer " computer" 7 years old so I cant manipulate the original map.
Just make an extract.Difficult to read.
From the German Lagekarte 19th nov
But You see Italian 2.ARMY CORPS = 2.SFORZESCA 3.RAVENNA 5.COSSEIRA
35. ARMY CORPS =former Italian Expeditionary Corps in Russia =9.PASUBIO 52.TORINO 3.CELERE.
MOUNTAIN CORPS =2.TRIDENTINA 3.JULIA 4.CUNNENSE
AND THE GERMAN 29.ARMY CORPS ( OOB unclear to me) AND THE GERMAN DIV 298. AND 62.
YOU DONT SEE 156.VICENZA (SEC. DIV) Belonging to 2INF CORPS. THE CROATIAN FORMATION AND 3 "BLACK SHIRTS" LEGIONS.

O.K. I still have a gap. In the image below there are three hexes circled in yellow that I think belong to the Hungarians. Can anyone identify the divisions in these hexes?

Hi!
Many forces in rather few hexes so its difficult to have a clear deployment,
Here is the situation described by the German Lagekarte 19 nov.
Hex East of Rossoch the 4. Cuneense Rum div
Next hex further east in Nowaja Kalitwa -5. Cosseiro div
Hex NW Rossoch -3.Julia div
In Belogorje ( 2 hexes West Pawlowsk) -2. Tridentina div
Next hex upwards along the river the first Hungarian unit the -23 light div.
Next upwards 19 light div.
Next upwards 12 light div.
Next to the West 10 light div
Next to the west (empty)
Next to the NW (over the small river) in Korotjak the German 336 div
to the West of that the Hung. 7 light div.
to NW of Korotjak in Storochewojo the German 168 div +13 light div
to NW of that the 6. light div and 20 light div
to NW of that the 9. light div.
Further German forces must of course be added.
No guarantee that my map is correctly transposed to the game-map. It should be checked with other sources.
Where is the Hungarian (Pz) div??? Sec. div ???

Have you looked at the starting lineup of the 'Red Army Resurgent' scenario? It starts at the same time and uses the same units. I used one of Goran's OKH maps for German unit placement.
