Now I have a unit with 3 heavy arty, 5 flak and 30 horses. It says I've 300 carry and 110 weight, but still says it moves at arty rate. Any clues? I only just made the unit, so it might change next move I guess.

This question has come up quite a few times now. As it is, the horses can not pull heavy artillery pieces, no matter how many you stack together. You will need something bigger for that - try trucks for example.
