Im trying to learn this game but having a bit of trouble.
Most everything is automated.

I created a fleet of 13 ships, and sent it to a system.

But now it has disappeared. Nothing in the log about an attack, etc.

Any ideas what going on?

Very strange, so there is nothing in your fleet list?

Did you happen to send them exploring a black hole?

Or indeed an electrical storm. Early game tech is susceptible to damage from those.

Is fleet formation automated also? If so, the AI may disband the fleet and assign the ships elsewhere. I'm not sure about this because I never have used it.

A BH or storm damage would trigger the "ship x needs repairs" message and you should see plenty of those in the messages. I think Igard's fleet reassignement is the best supposition here, thogh I've also not used it so not sure if it does happen.
Lordxorn is correct, you should check the fleet list before and after the event to see if a new fleet has emerged instead of this one.

Maybe they got into IGard's Cargo bay and are using a cloaking device. [:D]
Another possibility: they got destroyed when you were not looking...

Igard's Cargo bay would not sound them, maybe Elliot should patch the game so that this exploit of a romulan can be more visible [:)]
